West Palm Beach, Fla., Feb. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cloud Logistics, the provider of one of the most innovative Transportation Management Systems (TMS) in the supply chain software industry, congratulates four of this year’s Supply and Demand Chain Executive’s 2018 Pros to Know award winners: Kevin Mitchell of Hydro Extrusion North America, Ryan McFarland of Costa Farms, Scott Tesoriere and Nathan Sandell of Cloud Logistics.
The Pros to Know Awards recognize supply chain executives who are leading initiatives to help prepare their companies’ supply chains for the significant challenges of today’s business climate. Award winners are selected from a group of nominees in two categories: practitioners and providers.
Cloud Logistics applauds Kevin Mitchell of Hydro Extrusions North America as a first-time winner of the award. Kevin is the North American Director of Transportation and Logistics. Two years ago, Kevin led the deployment of the TMS across all of 23 facilities of Hydro’s North American operations. The initial phase of deployment saw a 6.5% reduction in freight spend “just in carrier selection,” as well as savings driven by visibility and productivity. In the past two years, Mr. Mitchell also oversaw the 300% increase in the size of the outsourced dedicated fleet, required due to the constraints in specialized equipment capacity. This growth also saw the launch of another initiative at Hydro: the creation of a brokerage division to be used for backhauls to further offset costs.
Ryan McFarland, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics and Transportation Director at Costa Farms is also a first-winner of the award. In the last 18 months, Ryan was responsible for the deployment of the Cloud Logistics TMS at Costa Farms. His vision to implement a best-in-class solution, with integrated rate benchmarking, carrier assignment optimization and single-use GPS tracking generated substantial freight savings while improving service amid higher seasonal volumes. Mr. McFarland has also led a packaging revolution in Costa’s foliage houseplant business, enabling logistics solutions in intermodal and cross-dock, leveraging customer DC networks and removing special equipment requirements, dramatically expanding their carrier base. Last year Mr. McFarland also completed APICS certifications in CSCP, SCOR-P and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Both Scott Tesoriere, VP of Technology, and Nathan Sandell, Director of Professional Services, are also first-time winners of the Pros to Know award. “It is a great honor to be recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive with this award,” commented Mr. Tesoriere. “This is an incredibly exciting time in logistics technology with so much provocative innovation happening. I am very pleased that our contributions are so well received.”
Mr. Sandell added, “Our goal day-in and day-out is to help our customers achieve logistics and transportation success. To not only have two Cloud Logistics’ clients be recognized but also our own contributions is a real thrill.”
