BETHLEHEM, Pa., March 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A new resource for ostomates, called myosto, recently launched with a website and toll-free numbers that provide educational information, support and product information to people living with ostomies, their caregivers, and healthcare professionals. myosto is owned and sponsored by B. Braun Medical Inc.
The myosto website, myosto-mylife.com, is designed to help individuals navigate the ostomy care journey. The website includes daily living tips as well as patients’ stories on lifestyle and product experiences. Requests for product samples are also available through the website and phone lines.
The myosto phone lines are answered by dedicated coordinators and are operational from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday: 1-833-387-6744 (for people living with an ostomy or caregivers) and 1-877-209-9626 (for healthcare professionals). The coordinators are trained to answer questions and provide product information. The phone lines are operated by Legacy Health Strategies, LLC, which is an unaffiliated third party service provider for B. Braun.
“The myosto resources are patient-centric and support ostomates as they learn to embrace a new beginning or continue to adjust to living with an ostomy,” said Jeff Straton, Vice President of OPM Chronic Care and New Business Development at B. Braun. “The initiative was developed by B. Braun in cooperation with certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOC) nurses who wanted to engage patients through educational information and support. Caregivers and loved ones can also access the myosto website and phone lines.”
