EDISON, N.J., March 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Thursday, March 29th, the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters (NRCC) will open the doors of its new, state-of-the-art New Jersey Carpenters Apprentice Training Center in Edison, NJ. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and provide State/local elected officials, local businesses/organizations and other attendees with a chance to tour the building.
Among those in attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony include: New Jersey State Governor Phil Murphy, Congressman Frank Pallone, State Senator Joseph Cryan, State Assemblyman Jon Bramnick, Mayor of Edison Thomas Lankey, the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters’ Executive Board, staff and members and various representatives from the NJ Legislature and Department of Labor. Contractors, architects and developers that helped to construct the facility will also be at the event.
“Our new Carpenters Training Center is custom designed to fit the needs of our membership and provide our apprentice and journeyman carpenters with the best equipment and training offered in the industry,” said Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters’ Executive Secretary-Treasurer John Ballantyne. “Individuals who are interested in a good paying career with great health/retirement benefits and zero college debt should consider a career as a Union Carpenter.”
The new Training Center features:
- Classrooms retrofitted with state-of-the-art Audio/Visual technology.
- Spacious hands-on training for all the skillsets in carpentry, flooring, mill-cabinet, millwright and pile driving trades.
- An overhead bridge crane for rigging steel concrete forms, pile driving materials and millwright equipment.
- 14 welding booths.
- A fully equipped cabinet shop to support training for our mill-cabinet program.
- A 300-seat auditorium with theater seating for NRCC meetings & conferences, professional presentations and apprentice orientations & graduations.
