HECA adds CEP™ Certification discount to its membership offerings

St. Louis, MO, April 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) will add to its professional development offerings a discounted rate for the distinguished Certified Education Planner™ (CEP) credential from the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners (AICEP).

“In recognition of HECA's commitment to upholding the standards of our profession, AICEP is pleased to announce a 25% HECA member discount for our application fees,” said Judith S. Bass, AICEP Chairperson and founder of Bass Educational Services. “We wish to acknowledge the focus on professional development by HECA members as this aligns with the mission of AICEP. We hope this incentive will inspire experienced HECA members to become certified, and we look forward to awarding the CEP designation to many more HECA members.”

Over 1,000 HECA members are already recognized for adhering to some of the strictest standards and ethics in the independent college consulting industry. Those HECA members who choose to pursue the CEP accreditation must demonstrate that they have achieved the highest level of competence in educational planning. In order to achieve this status, the AICEP requires that college counselors or educational consultants hold a Master’s degree and demonstrate substantial experience in the profession.

According to HECA Executive Director Ping Wei, "HECA continues to expand our professional development programming, including an annual ethics review, to ensure our members are the most qualified college education consultants. We believe this partnership with AICEP will encourage more of our members to pursue the CEP certification, illustrating their experience and commitment to ethical educational planning."
