CHICAGO, May 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Asima K. Ahmad has joined the nationally and internationally-recognized physician team at Fertility Centers of Illinois. The 11-physician team at Fertility Centers of Illinois has eight offices located throughout Chicagoland and serves patients throughout the Midwest and across the globe.
Dr. Ahmad is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Ahmad received her medical degree from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago and completed her residency at the Yale School of Medicine. She also received her Masters in Public Health at Harvard University.
A native of Chicago who grew up on the south side of the city, Dr. Ahmad is excited to treat patients in the city she called home as a child. She is passionate about the latest research and innovations that can benefit patients on their treatment journey and has completed extensive work, including research domestically and abroad as well as co-founding a startup fertility company designed to increase access to fertility care. The progressive reproductive laws in Illinois, some of the most liberal in the country, also allow her to offer a wide breadth of care to patients. In addition to English, Dr. Ahmad is fluent in Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi, and can speak basic Spanish, allowing her to remove barriers to treatment for many local communities.
“No two patients are alike, but they are all united in the goal to become parents,” says Dr. Ahmad. “I believe that achieving one’s highest fertility potential and having a family is a basic human right, and I am excited to join the esteemed Fertility Centers of Illinois physician team and help people access that care.”
Dr. Ahmad treats patients at the Warrenville and Tinley Park offices and is also receiving a warm welcome from the Fertility Centers of Illinois family.
“We are proud to have Dr. Ahmad joining our physician group,” explains Dr. Christopher Sipe, President of Fertility Centers of Illinois. “She is a skilled physician who is fluent in several languages and passionate about helping women and men feel empowered through the treatment process.”
