CLEVELAND, OH, June 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Things Remembered, the leading retailer of personalized merchandise and experiences, has announced the promotion of Nelson Tejada, from President, to President and Chief Executive Officer.
In making the announcement, Things Remembered board member, Jeremiah Lane of KKR said, “We are pleased with the company’s progress under Nelson’s leadership and are fortunate to have a leader of Nelson’s caliber to drive the business.” Matthew Kahn, chairman of the board, stated, “In the short period of time I have worked with Nelson, I have seen his business acumen and leadership ability advance our company initiatives.”
Last year, Nelson Tejada was promoted to President of Things Remembered after he rejoined the company in July 2015 as Senior Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer. In 2016, he assumed responsibility for the company’s merchandise planning and allocation department. Later in the year, his role was further expanded to Senior Vice President, Chief Merchandise Officer and Store Sales, where he led the field organization and store operations. He joined Things Remembered from Schurman Retail Group (SRG) where he had been Chief Merchandising Officer since 2009. During his six years with SRG, Nelson had global responsibilities for 750 stores in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom. Before SRG, Nelson was Vice President of Merchandising at American Greetings retail division, overseeing 407 stores across North America. His previous role with Things Remembered was from 2000 to 2005, as Vice President, General Merchandise Manager.
