Chicago, Ill, June 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Chicago, has been granted Magnet® redesignation for excellence in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
After a comprehensive evaluation process that began more than three years ago and following an ANCC Magnet appraiser visit, CTCA® Chicago was notified of the organization’s decision to grant it Magnet redesignation. The announcement was delivered via speaker phone by Donna Havens, PhD, RN, FAAN, Chair of the Commission for the Magnet Recognition Program®, to an exuberant crowd of CTCA Chicago nurses, board members, physicians, staff, and patients who gathered in the main lobby of the hospital to celebrate the proclamation.

Of the nearly 6,000 hospitals in the United States, slightly more than eight percent are Magnet-recognized/have earned the Magnet designation.
