AUSTIN, Texas and ATLANTA, July 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Thursday, July 19, HotSchedules employees around the world will be taking a day to give back and make meaningful contributions to their local communities during the company’s inaugural Global Charity Day.
Employees across the company’s Austin, Atlanta, Denver, Shanghai and Sydney offices will be volunteering and giving back in numerous ways, including:
- The Atlanta, Ga. office will be working with the Chattahoochee Nature Center on several maintenance and beautification projects, including picking up trash, repairing the river boardwalk, as well as clearing brush and unwanted trees. In the afternoon, the team will shift to the Atlanta Community Food Bank where they will be sorting and packing grocery donations.
- The Austin, Texas office will be partnering with the Wayside Charter School on a beautification project and teacher supply drive. The teams will be painting murals and helping teachers set up classrooms, tearing down old playground equipment, painting parking lot curbs and landscaping.
- The Denver, Colo. office will be volunteering at the Food Bank of the Rockies assisting with the organization of the nonprofit’s two distribution centers where member agencies such as food pantries and soup kitchens place orders to support their hunger relief programs. Some team members will also spend the afternoon helping maintain one of Denver’s many city parks.
- The Sydney, Australia office will be refurbishing the Guriwal Trail, an aboriginal culture garden, enhancing the environmental and social sustainability of the park with the intention of developing an indigenous cultural area. The team will be removing invasive weeds by hand, as well as mulching, planting, watering, and native propagation.
“At HotSchedules, the hospitality gene runs deep. Our Global Charity Day is another way our team members can live our company mission of Serving Those Who Serve Others — in this case, the communities in which we live and work,” said David Cantu, co-founder and chief customer officer at HotSchedules.
In total, HotSchedules employees will contribute nearly 4,000 hours of community service as part of the Global Charity Day program. Additionally, HotSchedules’ Customer Care will be open on July 19 and providing limited assistance.
“We firmly believe in giving back to the communities we serve. In addition to the Global Charity Day, our team members receive four days off each year to volunteer with the organizations they are most passionate about,” said Granya Gormley, head of people and culture at HotSchedules.
