6th annual Incisal Edge Design Competition for dentistry opens nominations

Award-winning offices will win Herman Miller ergonomic furnishings; Designs of the Future will garner $3000 in prizes


Pittston, Pennsylvania, Aug. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- An annual reminder that design transformations are driving dentistry forward: The 6th annual Incisal Edge Design Competition.

For more than half a decade, Incisal Edge, the leading lifestyle magazine for dental professionals has been paying tribute to the finest examples of architecture, interior design and space planning nationwide. Its 6th annual Incisal Edge Design Competition offers an opportunity for those who incorporate creativity and innovation when creating a dental office.  Nominations will be accepted through November 28, 2018, and winners will be awarded prizes in each of the contest’s three categories geared toward existing dental practices: new construction, repurposed practice, and specialty practice. Each winner will receive:

  • a Herman Miller Ergonomic Starter Bundle valued at $2945.00,
  • a professional photo session for their practice,
  • a profile in Incisal Edge dental lifestyle magazine’s spring issue,
  • a framed display of their winning entry as featured in the magazine, and
  • an “Incisal Edge Design Competition Winner” seal to be used for marketing purposes.

In one additional category, Design of the Future: Make a Grand Entrance, the contest invites participants to create a workplace -- specifically the reception and business zone of a dental office -- for patients and practitioners of tomorrow.  Visionaries from all realms are encouraged to enter, including: students with unique perspectives, solution-driven architects with imagination to spare, and dental professionals with a passion for improving the patient experience.  One grand prize winner will receive:

  • a $2000 monetary award,
  • an “Incisal Edge Design of the Future Winner” seal to be used in a portfolio,
  • a trip to the Benco Dental Build Your Future™ workshop to meet leading architect and dentist, Dr. Tristan Hamilton,
  • a profile in Incisal Edge dental lifestyle magazine’s spring issue, and
  • a framed display of their winning entry as featured in the magazine.

One runner up will receive a $1000 award. Design of the Future nominations will be accepted through November 28, 2018.
