LOUISVILLE, Colo., Sept. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, the CBRS Alliance, an industry organization focused on driving the development, commercialization, and adoption of OnGo™ shared spectrum solutions, announced the results of its inaugural OnGo Interoperability Test Event. Hosted by CableLabs and attended by government dignitaries, the initiative drew more than 20 member companies, including five of the nation’s Spectrum Access System (SAS) Administrators: Amdocs, CommScope, Federated Wireless, Google, and Sony. Eleven of the telecom industry’s prominent device manufacturers were active participants in the event as well, including: Airspan, Accelleran, Arris (Ruckus Networks), Baicells, BLiNQ Networks, Ericsson, Fujitsu, Gemtek Technology Co., Juni Global, Sercomm Corporation and Telrad Networks.
“While there have been a number of recent accomplishments toward commercial deployment, the technical achievements showcased by our members at last week’s Interoperability Test Event was by far one of the most significant milestones to date,” said Dave Wright, President of the CBRS Alliance. “After a successful round of interoperability tests and with Initial Commercial Deployment (ICD) on the horizon, we are confident that OnGo-enabled business opportunities are imminent.”
The SAS Administrators at the CBRS Alliance’s Interoperability Test Event fostered more than 50 successful interactions. Of the mandatory tests performed, there was a 98 percent – or better – test completion rate with no recorded failures. The interactions tested the critical functions required for support of all the use cases the CBRS Alliance has identified as most relevant for spectrum sharing in the 3.5 GHz band, including mobile network densification, fixed wireless, neutral host, and private LTE for both enterprise and industrial IoT use.
The high success rate and impressive participation serves as additional proof of the substantial traction the CBRS Alliance is making in its pursuit of enabling commercialization and adoption of OnGo technology.
