PETERBOROUGH, Ontario, Sept. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via OTC PR WIRE -- Rainmaker Worldwide (OTC:“RAKR”) is pleased to announce that it has shipped its initial Water-to-Water unit, valued at $100,000 USD to its distributor in Jamaica. Drops Jamaica, the exclusive distributor of Rainmaker Worldwide products, has an extensive presence in Ocho Rios and has developed strategic partnerships with some of the biggest companies in the region, such as telecommunication engineering company Konnexx Services Limited (http://www.konnexx.net).
RAKR, in conjunction with Drops Jamaica, has established an operational hub in Jamaica, which will use the proprietary mobile unit to demonstrate the efficiency of Rainmaker's technology and deliver pure water to the residents of Jamaica who are affected by severe drought and extreme shortage of clean water.
It is broadly acknowledged that the ongoing critical issues regarding water in the Caricom countries require new approaches and solutions to meet the most basic drinking water, commercial water treatment and agriculture needs. According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, “The Caribbean accounts for seven of the world’s top 36 water-stressed countries, while Barbados is in the top ten. FAO defines countries like Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, and St. Kitts and Nevis as water-scarce with less than 1000 m3 freshwater resources per capita.” (http://www.fao.org/americas/noticias/ver/en/c/419202/)
Rainmaker is confident that its breakthrough Water-to-Water technology can assist in the shortage of available clean water. Using a combination of wind-turbine technology, with its proprietary software and patented power unit, RAKR is able to use kinetic energy towards the reclamation of water without the use of a generator.
Michael O’Connor, President and CEO of Rainmaker Worldwide, said, “We are exceptionally pleased to work with our partners in Jamaica, with whom we share the common objective to provide clean drinking water to those who need it most. We believe our decentralized and cost-effective technologies are ideally suited to these acute situations of water need. RAKR's corporate mission encourages significant contributions to the social, economic and environmental needs of the communities in which we operate, while creating value for our shareholders. We look forward to collaborating closely with our local team to develop a long-term strategy for the region.”
Tim Bird, CEO of Drops Jamaica, said, “We are very excited to be deploying Rainmaker’s water purification and production systems in Jamaica and establishing a regional hub to serve the Caribbean countries who are experiencing water shortage issues. We fully expect that machines in the field will facilitate further deployments on a larger scale.”
About Rainmaker Worldwide Inc.
Rainmaker Worldwide Inc. (OTC:RAKR) is headquartered in Peterborough, Canada, with an innovation and manufacturing center in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Our patented water technology provides economical drinking water at scale wherever it’s needed. Rainmaker builds two types of energy-efficient, fresh water-producing technologies:
- Air-to-Water, which harvests fresh water from the air
- Water-to-Water, which transforms seawater or polluted water into drinking water
Our technology is both wind and solar powered, is deployable anywhere, and leaves no carbon traces. We also offer options for hybrid, grid and diesel-powered models.
Air-to-Water units are available in three standard sizes, producing 5,000, 10,000 or 20,000 liters of drinking water per day. Water-to-Water units are also available in three standard sizes producing 37,500, 75,000 or 150,000 liters per day. This makes our units suitable for communities of 200 to 30,000 people, depending on number of units deployed.
Our goal is to become a global leader in solving the worldwide water crisis. Simply put, we are creating safe, drinking water where little or none exists.
