PDMA Announces Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award Winner


St. Paul, Minn., Sept. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Following a rigorous review process with nominations from around the globe, the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) announced the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Corporate Innovator (OCI) Award. Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd. (COOEC) was selected as this year’s winner. Headquartered in China, COOEC is an engineering services company with more than 8,000 employees. Among the services which it provides are offshore engineering design, construction, installation and maintenance.

The OCI Award is the only global innovation award which recognizes sustained and quantifiable business results from new products and services. This year marks the 31st year in which PDMA has given this prestigious award, and the winners represent a group of global corporations widely recognized and respected for their innovation success. COOEC received the award due to its strong corporate commitment to be a world class innovator and has created a culture which engages all employees in the innovation process. COOEC has shown agility in responding to a dynamic and regulated market and is transforming that market through innovation.

At the 2018 PDMA Competitive Edge Conference in November, Jin Xiaojian, Chairman and President of COOEC., will share the practices and processes which have contributed to the company’s success in developing and launching innovative new products and services in a volatile market. Some of the practices which he will highlight include open innovation, identification and analysis of new opportunities and rapid learning & testing.
