MESA, Ariz., Sept. 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Iveda® (OTCMKTS:IVDA), worldwide enabler of cloud-based video surveillance and data management through the licensing of its Sentir® platform, today announced the launch of its new product offering, IvedaAI. This new offering is available to service providers such as security integrators, telecoms and alarm and monitoring companies for reselling to their customers.
IvedaAI includes a powerful self-contained server with artificial intelligence (AI) software, capable of searching a combination of objects from dozens to thousands of cameras in less than one second. Video analytics have been around for many years, but adoption has been slow because of inaccuracies and high cost. IvedaAI employs 30+ patents in AI, big data analytics and cloud computing. It applies a deep learning algorithm (trained, not programmed), automates processes and uses natural language. Most importantly, IvedaAI is relatively low cost — even small businesses and residential customers can afford it.
Intelligent video search has many practical applications. For instance, during an Amber Alert, an IvedaAI user can input vehicle type, color and license plate and get results from live roadway camera feeds within seconds. This application is augmented by IvedaAI’s license plate recognition option.
“We’ve been getting positive feedback from our current partners, both in the U.S. and abroad,” said David Ly CEO of Iveda. “They have already identified end users that will greatly benefit from IvedaAI, such as banks and schools.”
IvedaAI was designed for more mainstream application to save time and labor and to enhance security. IvedaAI will improve efficiency and enhance awareness within both business and government.
In addition to the search capability, IvedaAI can find a person based on face images and detect intrusion based on object types.
Unlike most facial recognition software available on the market today, IvedaAI does not require a face database. It can match an uploaded photo of an individual, from live video, recorded video, or an AVI file. This tool can be powerful in locating a missing child at a shopping mall, using the mall’s surveillance cameras. Or, a store manager can be alerted when a known shoplifter enters the store. It can recognize a face with matching accuracy of greater than 95%.
Additionally, IvedaAI can detect intrusion based on object types. Traditional intrusion detection systems detect objects based on size, but do not recognize the type of objects. IvedaAI creates a virtual fence with built-in AI algorithm to recognize more than 100 types of objects, including handbags, skateboards and bicycles. It can distinguish between a person and an animal or between a dog and a cat or between car or a motorbike. Identification of weapons, including types of guns and knives, is an optional feature. IvedaAI is truly smart, reducing the number of false-positives.
Traditional systems have low performance at night or low-light conditions. IvedaAI achieves high-accuracy with thermal or IR cameras in low light conditions.
IvedaAI can be used as a standalone unit, processing video directly from existing cameras or third-party NVR (Network Video Recorder), DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and VMS (Video Management System) platforms. There is no need to buy expensive cameras with built-in analytics.
