AUDUBON, Pa., Oct. 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Globus Medical, Inc. (NYSE: GMED), a leading musculoskeletal solutions company, announced today participation in Educational Workshops at the Orthopedic Trauma Association Annual Meeting October 17th- 20th in Orlando Florida.
During the resident workshops from October 17th- 19th, Globus Medical will support educational sessions entitled, Trimalleolar Ankle Fracture with Unstable Syndesmosis and External Fixation of a Comminuted Pilon Fracture, featuring the ANTHEM® Ankle Fracture System and ARBOR® External Fixation System.
The ANTHEM® Ankle Fracture System is a comprehensive set of low profile, anatomically-contoured plates for treatment of a variety of ankle fractures. A specialized set of instruments facilitates the efficiency in the operating room, with ankle-specific clamps designed to aid in fracture reduction. Radiolucent retractors and Weitlaners aid in visibility of the fracture site during intraoperative imaging.
The ARBOR® External Fixation System provides a streamlined set of clamps, pins, and bars with innovative instruments that allow surgeons to quickly create the pin-bar frame of their choice. The system offers a one-clamp design for every procedure regardless of pin size.
On Friday, October 19th, Globus will support another surgeon education workshop entitled Proximal Humerus Plating Tips and Tricks featuring the ANTHEM® Proximal Humerus Fracture System.
The ANTHEM® Proximal Humerus Fracture System is designed to treat a wide variety of shoulder fractures and streamline procedural flow during fracture fixation. The unique polyaxial screw technology allows surgeons to target dense calcar bone and enhance fixation, independent of plate position. This comprehensive, stand-alone system includes small fragment instruments and innovative retractors to aid in visibility of the fracture site, and potentially reduce surgical time.
“Globus is pleased to support the OTA in training the surgeon community and residents using the latest techniques and technology,” says Barclay Davis, Vice President, Orthopedic Trauma. “We are committed to innovation and advancement of our trauma portfolio, to streamline procedures for surgeons and improve patient care.”
