The Famed Chef Joins Chris Mills, JOEY Restaurant Group’s Executive Chef, in the Upscale Casual Dining Scene

Vancouver, BC, November 1, 2018 – JOEY Restaurant Group today announced Matthew Stowe, Food Network’s Top Chef Canada winner, has been appointed Executive Director of Culinary. Stowe joins Executive Chef and culinary legend, Chris Mills, as half of a power duo that will oversee the culinary direction of the popular restaurant group, which now has 37 locations across North America.

After discovering his love for cooking as a teenager, Stowe attended New York’s prestigious Culinary Institute of America. He continued to hone his craft at famed restaurant Lutéce, in New York City before moving back to his native British Columbia, where he became Executive Chef at Sonora Resort. Stowe then went on to win the title of Top Chef Canada in Season 3, defeating 15 of the countries most talented Chefs.
He joins esteemed Executive Chef Mills whose culinary training crosses cultures from Loire Valley to Tokyo, Mexico, London, Whistler and Chiang Mai. Highly regarded for his globally-inspired cuisine, Mills has made a name for himself as the original Iron Chef Tokyo and ranking fifth in the prestigious Bocuse d’Or competition. Amongst his many accolades, Mills was also three times a guest chef at the James Beard House in New York City.
