Midsota Manufacturing Teams Up to Join Fight Against Childhood Cancer


Washington D.C., Nov. 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Midsota Manufacturing recently teamed up with the American Childhood Cancer Organization - the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots childhood cancer organization dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer to raise more than $23,000 in support of children and families impacted by a childhood cancer diagnosis. The massive 36-foot trailer displayed at the 2018 NATDA Trade Show in Indianapolis, Indiana was auctioned off online.

Founded by parents of children diagnosed with cancer, the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO) understands first-hand that childhood cancer is a devastating disease that demands urgent and collaborative action from government, non-profit organizations, and the private sector. How urgent is this call to action? “Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children in the United States,” said Ruth Hoffman, mother of a childhood cancer survivor and Chief Executive Officer at the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO). “What’s more, two-thirds of children who do survive will develop long term late effects. One-fourth of those children will have a life-threatening late effect, including secondary cancers from the toxicity of treatment. It’s clear the time to act is now and rapid progress is needed to bring cures and hope to children and families across the country.”

The American Childhood Cancer Organization was a natural choice for Midsota when they began thinking about the beneficiary of their fundraiser. Owners Tim Burg and Joel Bauer each have young families. The owners stated, “Supporting other families with young children facing the disease is very important to us. We have seen the struggle many families face with children that have been through childhood cancer and wish that no family would have to deal with it.  We want to be able to give back to our communities and families both locally and around the country to help in any way we can to alleviate some of the burden when one of their children is faced with a battle against cancer.”
