Premios de la Radio, the only music awards show that honors and recognizes the best in Regional Mexican music in the United States, once again topped all of its competitors in the Los Angeles market by garnering the #1 Rank regardless of language in the top demographic categories: Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49, Men18-34, Men 18-49, Men 25-54, and Females 18-34. EstrellaTV’s local flagship station, KRCA Channel 62, also recorded impressive growth across key demographics +36% Adults 18-34, +167% Men 18-34 and +25% Men 18-491 as compared to last year’s program.
EstrellaTV’s Los Angeles O&O station beat CW by 250%, NBC by 133%, Fox by 75%, ABC by 75% and CBS by 27%, crushing hit TV shows such as The Voice (NBC), Law & Order (NBC), Grey’s Anatomy (ABC), How To Get Away With Murder (ABC), Big Bang Theory (CBS) and Fox Sports Wrap (Fox).
KRCA Channel 62 also delivered tremendous viewership in Los Angeles Hispanic ratings, beating Univision by 40%, Telemundo by 56% and Unimas by a whopping 250%. This resulted in KRCA, EstrellaTV, achieving the #1 Rank among Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49, Adults 25-4, Men 18-34, Men 18-49, Men 25-54, and Females 18-34.
For the first time in its history, the Premios de la Radio telecast was broadcast live from Guadalajara, Jalisco, featuring today’s biggest recording artists in Regional Mexican music. The show offered world television exclusives, such as the music career debut of Alex Fernandez Guinart, grandson of legendary Mariachi superstar Vicente Fernandez, the premiere of a new duet single by the “Queen of Grupero” music, Ana Barbara and millennial heart-throb superstar Christian Nodal, and the world debut of “Por Qué,” a pro immigrant anthem, and this year’s theme song for the awards show.
