THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Dec. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Don Baker, a Thousand Oaks inventor and marketer faced difficult choices as he watched his neighborhood threatened by the recent tragic mass shooting and then a day later endure the horror of wild fires raging on every side of his home.
Don Baker of Quasar Creations INC, a developer of innovative devices for tablets, had planned to promote his new invention Stick Tab, the first combo tablet holder stand with a sticky pad that attaches firmly to the back of a tablet without leaving residue, on Indiegogo. But as the Thousand Oaks tragedies grew, Don was finding his opportunities dwindling.
As Don readied the marketing launch for Stick Tab, severe winds whipped fires closer to his home so Don packed his car with his important papers. Stick Tab prototypes and models just managed to squeeze into the back seat beside his irreplaceable papers and pet supplies for Suki, his Maine Coon cat. While he awaited word on possible evacuation his electricity suddenly went out and he lost wifi which made connectivity more difficult. Still, he worked through the night preparing marketing materials needed to promote Stick Tab, the lifelong dream product he’d developed with Claude Cloutier, his Canadian engineering partner.
“Because of the approaching fires I couldn’t sleep and it was a miracle I was able to organize the Stick Tab campaign during this horrific time in Thousand Oaks. But my journey pales in comparison to the less fortunate around me who lost everything, along with the valiant firefighters who risked everything to help,” said Baker. “This was a holiday gift idea I was determined to bring to market and not let anything stop me. I only wish I could give one to every firefighter who battled these blazes because Stick Tab is a real breakthrough. With the holidays approaching this device makes a great gift because people won’t need multiple iPad or Kindle stands ever again,” added Baker. “Stick Tab is both a tablet stand and a holder with an ergonomic handle that solves discomfort people have when holding a tablet or e-reader for long periods. The product was developed to make tablets more functional and fun to use.”
Stick Tab holds tablets and e-readers of any size and made of any material. It uses a special polymer sticky pad that are like millions of microscopic suction cups which firmly hold the tablet without needing to be permanently attached to the tablet. The tablet can easily be removed from the sticky pad and the special sticky polymer leaves no residue on the device. It can be used over and over and when the pad becomes less sticky after extensive usage, it regains its original stickiness by simply washing it with a drop of liquid soap and water.
The USB charger inside the Stick Tab handle is removable and can charge the tablet even when the tablet is in use, or charge any USB compatible device like smart phones, GPS, cameras etc.
Stick Tab is the world’s first universal tablet/e-reader holder and the last tablet holder you’ll ever need.
