Milpitas, California, Jan. 04, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sierra Monitor Corporation’s (SRMC: OTCQB) device management cloud service for equipment manufacturers was verified secure by Provensec, an industry-recognized leader in cyber security testing and risk management services.
The SMC Cloud is used by Sierra Monitor and their customers to collect and analyze operational and telemetry data from connected facilities and industrial equipment including HVAC, industrial lighting, boilers, fire-panels, flow/valve controls and many more. As companies build new products and services based on cloud-based data sets, SMC turned to Provensec to confirm the security and accessibility of SMC Cloud.
“We took care to weave security throughout the foundation of the SMC Cloud platform,” said Bennie de Wet, Chief Technology Officer for Sierra Monitor Corporation. “I am pleased that Provensec was able to validate the work we continue to do to protect our customers’ valuable data.”
Basic data collection, visualization and trend analysis in SMC Cloud is included in the purchase of many Sierra Monitor IIoT gateway products. And nearly all FieldServer gateways include cloud-based secure remote access for configuration and maintenance. By contracting with Provensec, SMC is able to back up their assertion of a secure device management cloud for its customers.
See the full line of SMC Cloud services as well as FieldServer gateways at the upcoming AHR Expo, the world’s largest HVACR event in Atlanta, Georgia from January 14-16, 2019 at stand #C5452.
