AUSTIN, Texas and SARASOTA, Fla., March 14, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- There wasn’t any doubt that a partnership between Daytime Emmy® Award nominated Flight School Studio and the world-renowned Ringling College of Art and Design would create great things. The latest collaboration has been no exception. The two have developed a multi-level virtual reality game that has players racing against the clock to wash dogs. The game, titled Wet Dog Corp, is still in beta. The students aim to seek feedback at South By Southwest (SXSW) in order to target a release date in the future.

“Ringling College is dedicated to experiential learning and this project is an awesome example of that commitment. In all my years as an educator I have never seen so many students from such diverse majors work together to realize a project. It is fantastic! What started as just an idea two years ago at a studio visit with Flight School and Ringling College has become a case study for real world learning, collaboration, industry and higher education partnership at the highest level. We cannot wait to see this activation in real time at SXSW.” – Jeff Schwartz, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Ringling College.
"Flight School continues to learn and that’s why school is in our name. This kind of partnership with Ringling College is a way for us to stay in school. We’re learning just as much as teaching right now. It’s important for us to share what we’ve learned at the forefront of immersive storytelling so that we help students be successful in the workplace." – Brandon Oldenburg, CCO, Flight School
“The decision to participate in SXSW came spontaneously, but this collaboration created a masterpiece, and we wanted to show the world our capabilities and quick growth. The idea is simple – a brand activation at SXSW that showcases just what a partnership with both Flight School Studio and Ringling College could accomplish.” – Ellie Winslow, student, Project Coordinator.
The Wet Dog Corp activation will be held on Friday, March 15 in the parking lot at 601 E 4th Street between the hours of 12pm - 11pm. The launch date coincides with the SXSW Gaming Expo that runs March 15-17 in the Austin Convention Center, conveniently right across the street from the Wet Dog Corp activation.
