Crispin Integrates Accelerated File Transfer Software from Data Expedition to Streamline Content Delivery to TV Stations

DEI software integration offers reliable content distribution directly between stations

LAS VEGAS, March 28, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (NAB Show) – Data Expedition, Inc.® (DEI®), creator of the industry’s only intelligent data transport software, announced today that Crispin, a Sony Group Company, integrated DEI’s MTP™/IP technology into its LoadingDock to streamline content delivery for TV stations across the country. LoadingDock can now further reduce the acquisition workload of station operators by providing direct accelerated transfer between nodes. A demo of LoadingDock will be given at The NAB Show, Crispin Booth #C9508, April 8 – 11. DEI executives will also be onsite at the show.

According to Crispin’s Chief Technology Officer, Jim Zagrobelny, Data Expedition was selected after extensive research and evaluation. Crispin executives are confident in the feature set and reliability DEI provides. “DEI’s flexible API, easy integration, and reasonable deployment costs made the decision to incorporate their software into LoadingDock very easy,” Zagrobelny said.

LoadingDock tools give customers -- from broadcasters and cable operators to universities, townships, and organizations -- the capability to automatically acquire content, upload content to the cloud, easily prep with proxy clips, designate automated workflows for distribution, and more. Designated as ‘primary’ or ‘backup,’ stations can maximize the web-based resources they require by configuring the system based on individual location needs.

MTP™/IP (Multipurpose Transaction Protocol®) is high-performance accelerated file transfer software that is easy to integrate and easy to deploy into existing and new workflows. For Crispin’s LoadingDock, MTP/IP adds accelerated file transfers within a station group or “dock to dock.” This makes it possible for the ‘primary’ to grant permission to each ‘backup’ LoadingDock for material retrieval, as fast as the network and storage infrastructure can go. LoadingDock also allows stations to configure bandwidth allocation and the automatic distribution does the rest.

“Crispin is taking advantage of MTP/IP's lightweight, but high-performance nature,” said Seth Noble, CEO and Founder of DEI. “It’s a win for both Crispin and their customers – Crispin can quickly and easily add acceleration to their product without adding complexity to the customer's workflow. Crispin’s customers benefit from faster content delivery – and that makes their customers happy.”

There are multiple ways to partner with DEI, from using off-the-shelf ExpeDat software for simple file transfers to integrating lightweight, easy-to-use SDKs for native accelerated data transfer capabilities. The software is designed and engineered to afford DEI’s partners an easy way to add accelerated data transfer without an arduous development cycle spanning many months. Partnering with DEI is simple from both development and pricing perspectives.
