Indico Adds VP of Engineering and Two Board Advisors

Software veteran Don Zereski adds depth to Indico management team; former Amex executive Venkat Varadachary and OpenAI researcher Alec Radford take advisor roles to help guide the growth of AI-based intelligent process automation startup

BOSTON, April 03, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Indico, a provider of enterprise AI solutions for intelligent process automation, today announced the addition of a new vice president of engineering and two advisors to its board. The announcement comes on the heels of a successful 2018 when Indico grew bookings and revenues by 300% and launched Indico IPA, the market’s first productized application of deep learning for intelligent process automation (IPA).

Don Zereski has joined Indico in the role of Vice President of Engineering, reporting to CEO Tom Wilde.  In his role, he will oversee the expansion of Indico’s IPA platform to address new use cases and applications in the enterprise. Previously, Don was Vice President of local search and analytics at HERE, a Nokia company where he delivered a local search engine with global coverage to customers such as BMW, Acura and Amazon. He was also responsible for Nokia’s Big Data analytics team. Before joining Nokia, Don was CEO MetaCarta, a machine learning  based geodata platform that served global intelligence agencies and large oil companies.

Indico’s two new board advisors bring a wealth of experience in AI, machine learning and process automation to the company. Venkat Varadachary is former Executive Vice President for global information management and chief data & analytics officer for American Express. Varadachary left Amex in 2018 after 20 years. There he was a member of the global management team and helped the company leverage data analytics to drive innovation, revenue growth and efficiency in the areas of marketing, digital programs, loyalty, servicing and risk. This included leading the transformation of Amex from using legacy platforms and analytics to a full big data and machine learning-based ecosystem. He also currently serves as a senior advisor at McKinsey & Company, and as advisor to Pine Brook Partners, Kapitus, Node.io, Terbium Labs, Simon Data and Augeo FI.

Alec Radford is a machine learning developer and researcher at OpenAI, a non-profit AI research company focused on discovering and enacting the path to safe artificial general intelligence. He is also one of the original co-founders of Indico along with Slater Victoroff, Madison May and Diana Yuan. Radford has been instrumental in important research and development work completed by OpenAI, driving huge innovations in machine learning. Indico has built on OpenAI’s work to enable users to apply it to a broader set of use cases.

“These are really important and high-impact additions to our team as we enter the next phase of our growth,” said Tom Wilde, CEO of Indico. “As our vice president of engineering, Don will be integral to helping build out our platform for broader adoption in the enterprise. He’s always been at the forefront of technology -- from early internet start-up companies to the HERE Division of Nokia – and he has excelled at product strategy and building the platforms and applications that monetize the technology vision.”

“Venkat and Alec will provide invaluable guidance as advisors to the company,” added Wilde. “Venkat’s experience in applying AI to streamline foundational business processes in the financial services segment is a perfect fit as Indico continues to gain traction there. And Alec has been involved in some of the foundational work done to apply AI to unstructured content such as text and images. He also understands Indico’s potential as well as anyone given he was one of the company’s co-founders. We’ll benefit greatly from their expertise.”
