SAN JUAN, Costa Rica, April 04, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Two Universal Aviation Costa Rica locations - San Juan (MROC) and Liberia (MRLB) have become the latest Universal Aviation ground handling offices to earn accreditation under the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) program. Universal Aviation, the worldwide ground support division of Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc., has more than 50 locations in more than 20 countries.
The two Costa Rica locations join Singapore (WSSL) and London Stansted (EGSS) as the third and fourth Universal Aviation locations to become IS-BAH accredited.
“IS-BAH accreditation is a mark of distinction in our industry and sends a message to our customers that we are committed to the highest levels of safety, systems, training, and security,” said Delmark Muir, Managing Director, Universal Aviation Costa Rica. “We are proud that both of our locations in Costa Rica earned accreditation and look forward to continuing to ensure our clients’ mission success.”
IS-BAH is a set of global industry best practices for business aviation ground handlers, which features at its core a fully documented and implemented safety management system (SMS). The IS-BAH protocol follows the same basic structure as the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) Program and incorporates the NATA Safety 1st Ground Audit Program. IS-BAH is the global industry standard for handlers and operators around the world to meet the coming SMS requirements from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
