SAN JOSE, Calif., April 22, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Diamanti, creators of the first bare-metal platform purpose-built for containerized applications, today announced the appointment of Bill Cordero as vice president of Worldwide Channels reporting to Diamanti CEO Tom Barton. In addition, the company launched an online portal – Diamanti Edge – to provide additional pre-sales support to certified channel partners.
Cordero will have overall responsibility for Diamanti’s evolving channel and go-to-market strategy to maximize customer value, expand new routes to market and lead the global channel sales team to drive growth and revenue through Diamanti’s partner ecosystem.
Cordero brings more than 20 years of enterprise channel leadership experience. He joins Diamanti from Blue Medora where he led worldwide channels. Previously he held senior sales and channel roles at, Rubrik, Tegile Systems, StorSimple (acquired by Microsoft), Data Domain and VA Linux.
“We are 100 percent committed to an all-channel sales and go-to-market strategy,” said Tom Barton, CEO of Diamanti. “Bill’s proven track record of making partners successful in enterprise accounts will help us take our global business to the next level.”
“It’s an exciting time to join the team at Diamanti as more and more Global 2000 enterprises look to modernize their IT architectures to embrace the new world of Kubernetes and containers,” Cordero said. “We are first to market with a platform that shrinks containerized applications deployment time from months to minutes and offers enormous opportunity for value-added partners to make our customers successful from day one.”
Diamanti was one of the first vendors to recognize the exploding market opportunity for partners to help their customers understand, adopt and deploy containers in production.
In the first channel survey of its kind released last year — “Why Containers Are the Biggest Channel Opportunity Since VMs” (download the full report) — more than 130 IT resellers, VARs and MSPs share their views on the economic opportunity around Docker and Containers, and the implications for VMware in the channel. The survey reveals that 43% of the Channel is already working with Docker, 31% are working with Kubernetes, and 46% see “new cloud-native applications” as a common use case ahead of containers. But 45% of the channel survey respondents describe their technical knowledge of containers as “beginner” level, with only 4% claiming “expert” knowledge.
Diamanti, recently awarded a top 5-Star rating in CRN’s 2019 Partner Program Guide, was also named Winner of the 2018 Container Trailblazer category by the Tech Trailblazers awards. Diamanti last year was named a Gartner “Cool Vendor” for its bare-metal container platform, and Database Trends and Applications named Diamanti a 2018 “Trend-Setting Product in Data Management.” Other product accolades for Diamanti include being named a CRN “10 Coolest Cloud Storage Startups” and being included in Forbes “10 New Product Categories Created Exclusively for the Container Era.”
