SAN FRANCISCO, April 24, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GYANT, a San Francisco-based healthcare company, announced today that is has been selected to the Mayo Clinic-Arizona State University inaugural MedTech Accelerator cohort. GYANT’s AI-powered healthcare service uses natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning to enable conversations between payers, providers, and their patients throughout their care experience. GYANT’s digital front door directs patients into the level of care and services they need, while enabling providers to diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, and deliver aftercare more efficiently. The Accelerator program will give GYANT the opportunity to validate its products, creating a more robust integration with hospitals’ existing processes for providers, and improving upon the patient experience.
Health systems across the globe are facing a growing shortage of providers and provider burnout rates that are higher than ever. GYANT combines physicians’ expertise with proprietary AI to streamline the medical triage process, automatically chart patient history, and alleviate the administrative burden on providers––creating a more enjoyable healthcare experience for them and their patients. By guiding patients to the level of care and resources they need, GYANT reduces the inefficiencies and costs of care for both patients and the health systems that serve them.
“Our mission is to eliminate the inefficiencies that are weighing down our health systems, and remove the barriers that prevent providers and patients from the best possible care experience,” said Pascal Zuta, GYANT Co-Founder and CEO. “Collaborating with the mentors and experts at the Mayo Clinic and ASU will provide tremendous insight into how GYANT’s offerings can improve to better serve the needs of health systems, their providers, and their patients. Our team is looking forward to the Accelerator program and all it means for the evolution of GYANT in the coming months.”
GYANT is one of just six companies selected for the inaugural Mayo/ASU MedTech Accelerator, stemming from two of the nation’s foremost medical institutions. The Accelerator program recognizes transformative efforts in medical technology, identifying and fostering emerging innovations that are poised to advance healthcare. Over the next 6 to 12 months, GYANT will collaborate with the country’s most distinguished medical mentors and researchers to implement its products and gain additional insights from users. This will support the continued iteration and deployment of GYANT’s products with health systems across the U.S., and empower the company to further optimize its offerings for patients and providers.
"Mayo Clinic is excited to collaborate with ASU and six companies with such a strong transformative potential to develop next-generation medical technologies and services that improve patient care," says Timmeko Love, managing partner of the accelerator, and a senior manager at the Department of Business Development at Mayo Clinic. "Through focused business development and interactions with the Greater Phoenix entrepreneurial ecosystem, this program will create strategic alliances that rapidly commercialize health care technologies resulting in a global impact."
The Mayo Clinic is widely known as the top hospital in the United States, ranking first in more specialties than any other.
