Washington D.C., May 14, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Experts from the American Institutes for Research (AIR) will present at several sessions during the 74th Annual Conference of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). The conference will be held May 16-19, 2019, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
AAPOR is the largest professional organization of public opinion and survey research professionals in the U.S. It seeks to build better public understanding of its members’ work and promote ethical conduct and sound use of public opinion research.
AIR experts will present on several topics on survey methodology and data science and participate in the meetings of the AAPOR committees on which they serve. AIR will also have Booth 302 in the conference exhibition hall for those wanting to learn more about its work, workplace, and career opportunities.
A team of AIR researchers are also finalists in the “AAPOR’s Got Talent” competition, which allows its members to develop original ideas for addressing important issues in survey research, and present their ideas to a panel of judges and AAPOR members at the annual conference. The AIR team, which includes Clyde Tucker, Claire Kelley, and Mark Masterton, is a finalist for Using Image Data to Enhance Geographic Data Sources, which discusses whether it is possible to use computer vision methods to enhance researcher understanding about the contexts of where people live.
