Mobility solution provider Bombardier Transportation will be presenting its BOMBARDIER TRAXX locomotive platform and innovative service solutions at the Transport Logistic 2019 exhibition, taking place in Munich, Germany from June 4 to 7. The event is the world's leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management.
“We are happy to show visitors Europe’s newest locomotive platform and highlight our market success,” says Michael Fohrer, President, Region Central and Eastern Europe and Israel, Bombardier Transportation. “Two yeas ago, we launched the TRAXX 3 platform here at Transport Logistic and since then we have won orders for more than 150 of these new generation locomotives. To date, 20 DC3 locomotives are successfully running in commercial operation in Italy, with the six pre-series MS3 locomotives currently completing test runs on various networks to earn their authorization in more than ten countries and for more than 50 configurations* during next year.”
The innovative TRAXX platform offers the latest generation of electronics and improved mechanics to provide advantages from power and tractive effort, to energy efficiency and maintenance. For example, the MS3 locomotive is the first and only multi-system locomotive that can be equipped with the Last Mile function, a technology that enables it to bridge non-electrified track sections, and the DC3 version is available with this option as well. The development of this new locomotive generation is based on the success of the proven TRAXX family. To date, more than 2,000 of these locomotives are operating in 20 countries, covering a combined distance of 300 million kilometers per-year. Their operators can rely on a dense network of workshops all over Europe as well as a multi-language, 24/7 support hotline and other benefits from Bombardier’s Services teams.
“The outstanding performance of the TRAXX locomotives is also due to our strong services support,” says Michael Fohrer. “We offer condition-based maintenance where the locomotive’s most important systems are supervised online, which enables us to predict and prevent component failures. We also offer many other digital tools, spare part management, upgrades, overhauls and crash repairs.”
Visit Bombardier at the Transport Logistic 2019 exhibition at the Munich Trade Fair Centre from June 4 to 7, at Stand FGL 703/1 in the outdoor exhibition area.
* Configuration = a combination of the characteristics of a locomotive defined by the countries where the locomotive shall operate and the technical options like last mile, remote control, bogie type, etc.
