CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 25, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mawer Investment Management Ltd. (Mawer) announced today the following organizational updates:
Christian Deckart, CFA, PhD appointed Chief Investment Officer
Effective July 1, 2024, Christian Deckart, CFA, PhD, will assume the role of Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Deckart has been with the firm since 2013 and Deputy CIO since 2018. He is the lead manager of Mawer’s Global Equity strategy and Global Small Cap strategy.
Manar Hassan-Agha, CFA, appointed co-manager of Mawer’s Global Equity strategy
Effective today, Manar Hassan-Agha, CFA is a co-manager of the Mawer Global Equity strategy. Prior to joining the firm in 2021, Mr. Hassan-Agha held positions at Fulcrum Capital Partners Inc and KPMG.
Paul Moroz, CFA will transition off the strategy as of March 31, 2024. Christian Deckart will remain lead manager.
Samir Taghiyev, CFA, appointed lead manager of Mawer’s Canadian Small Cap strategy
Effective April 1, 2024, Samir Taghiyev, CFA will become lead manager of Mawer’s Canadian Small Cap strategy. Mr. Taghiyev joined Mawer in 2014 was appointed co-manager in 2021.
Jeff Mo, CFA, will continue as co-manager, as well as lead manager of the Mawer U.S. Mid Cap Equity strategy.
Steven Visscher, CFA, appointed lead manager of Mawer’s Balanced and Global Balanced strategies
Effective April 1, 2024, Steven Visscher, CFA, will become lead manager of Mawer’s Balanced and Global Balanced strategies. Mr. Visscher has been co-manager since 2018 working closely with Greg Peterson, CFA since Mr. Visscher joined the firm in 2005. He will also continue in his role as lead manager of Mawer’s Tax-Effective Balanced strategy and as an investment counsellor.
Mr. Peterson will continue as co-manager and as an investment counsellor with the firm.
