New Finance Minister of France to be Keynote Speaker in New York

Laurent Fabius Will Speak at the Paris EUROPLACE Financial Forum on April 17


NEW YORK, April 3, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Paris EUROPLACE, the French-based association, will host its third annual financial forum in New York and will feature the newly appointed Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry of France, Laurent Fabius.

Formerly the prime minister of France - the youngest in the 20th century - Fabius was appointed to the post this week by French prime minister Lionel Jospin. Prior to this appointment, Fabius was speaker of the National Assembly.

Fabius will be a keynote speaker at the Paris EUROPLACE Financial Forum, which will be held April 17 at the Plaza Hotel. The conference will focus on trends in European capital markets, the Internet and the New Economy.
