Northrop Grumman Names New Vice President for Electro-Optical and Infrared Targeting Systems


ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., May 22, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Michael W. Lennon has been promoted to vice president-Electro-Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) Targeting Programs for Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector (ES3). Mr. Lennon most recently had been ES3 director-Radio Frequency Electronic Warfare Programs.

Northrop Grumman's EO/IR targeting programs include the LITENING II airborne laser target designator and navigation pod, the mast-mounted site for the Kiowa helicopter and the advanced IR tracking adjunct sensor for the Hawk missile system.

Mr. Lennon has more than 25 years of experience in the defense industry managing domestic and international electronic warfare programs that include the AN/ALQ-135, AN/ALQ-162 and microwave power modules, in addition to integrated logistics support for these and other sector programs.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman in 1982, Mr. Lennon served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force. He also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and retired in 1999 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Joint STARS System Program Office at Warner Robins AFB, Ga.

Mr. Lennon holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tennessee and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Wyoming.
