Comptek Awarded $9.4 Million U.S. Navy Contract to Provide Aircraft Mission Planning Support


BUFFALO, N.Y., July 20, 2000, (PRIMEZONE) - Comptek Research, Inc. (AMEX:CTK) today announced it has received a $9.4 million contract from the Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD, to provide software programming and systems integration for the Tactical EA-6B Mission Support System, generally referred to as the "TEAMS" system. The period of performance is approximately two years.

Under the agreement, Comptek will provide multiple software releases, migration to the military's joint mission planning system (JMPS), and support of EA-6B's ICAP III test program. Comptek will also furnish field service for 40 currently deployed systems, repair support, documentation, training and configuration management.

Comptek's subsidiary, Comptek PRB Associates, Inc., will be responsible for the contract performance. Comptek PRB developed the TEAMS System as its first major production contract award in 1991. TEAMS is the mission support system used by the EA-6B's aircrew to accomplish pre-mission planning, generate multiple aircraft data loads, in-flight reprogramming, and post flight data reduction.

The EA-6B Prowler, the world's most sophisticated electronic countermeasure attack aircraft, provides strike support the both Navy and Air Force strike aircraft and saw extensive service during the Bosnia Conflict.
