Dobson Communications Plans to Participate in C and F Block Spectrum Auction


OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 8, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dobson Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:DCEL) today announced that it plans to participate in the upcoming Federal Communications Commission C and F Block Broadband PCS Spectrum Auction (FCC Auction No. 35). Through its subsidiary, DCC PCS, Inc., Dobson is eligible to participate in the auction as a Designated Entity.

The auction is scheduled to commence on December 12, 2000 and will include both open and closed spectrum licenses. Only companies that are designated by the FCC as "Designated Entities" are allowed to bid on all of the licenses.
