Unity Wireless Reports New Hires


BELLEVUE, Wash., May 24, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Unity Wireless Corporation (OTCBB:UTYW), a leading provider of high performance RF (radio frequency) power amplifiers to the wireless industry, today announced that it has hired Dominic Garcia as a senior RF engineer, as part of its RF product design team. The company also announced the hiring of Angie Dosanjh as Manager of Corporate Communications, as part of the development of the administrative team at the Company's Burnaby, British Columbia headquarters.

Mr. Garcia, previously a Senior RF Engineer at Philips Semiconductor, was involved in the development and production of new RF hybrid power amplifier modules based on specifications from Philips, the Netherlands. "Mr. Garcia's experience with Philips and Uniden will serve him in good stead as he joins our growing product design team, and in responding to significantly increased product development activities...results due in part to our aggressive sales and marketing initiatives," said John Robertson, Chief Executive Officer. "Our timely response to Requests for Quotations is an important part of Unity's sensitivity to customers' needs," he added.

While at Uniden, Mr. Garcia had overall production responsibility for several wireless telecommunications products, including a new line of pagers and cordless phones. In addition to his superior technical skills, he brings to Unity his fluency in both conversational and technical Japanese, in support of the Company's marketing efforts in Asia.

Ms. Dosanjh was formerly employed by User Friendly Media Inc. where she was Communications Manager. She was responsible for directing the strategy and execution of their Public Relations, Market Research & Methodology Direct Marketing programs and managing the corporate Website. Prior, she was the Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Clearnet Communications Inc., one of Canada's Largest PCS wireless network providers.
