Unity Wireless Reports Additional Amplifiers Sales to Repeater Technologies

BELLEVUE, Wash., June 13, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Unity Wireless Corporation (OTCBB:UTYW), a leading provider of high performance RF (radio frequency) power amplifiers to the wireless industry, announced additional sales to Repeater Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:RPTR), a leading provider of coverage enhancement products and engineering and consulting services to wireless carriers worldwide.

After successfully winning the bid to supply Third Generation (3G) Wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) RF power amplifiers and beating three leading competitors, Unity Wireless met Repeater's critical specifications and delivered on time. That accomplishment led to today's pilot order for RF power amplifiers utilized in one of Repeater's current product lines.

"The product team at Unity Wireless has consistently delivered as promised and exceeded our expectations," said John Soliday, Vice President, Research & Development for Repeater Technologies Inc. "Unity created a custom designed RF power amplifier to meet our spec in record time, and the resulting design demonstrates a level of engineering maturity beyond our expectations," he said.

"It is significant that Repeater chose to order from Unity Wireless. It demonstrated their faith in our product and our ability to be a consistent technology vendor to their operation. This repeat sale confirms our ability to generate recurring revenues as we align our strategic product development with global industry leaders like Repeater Technologies," said John Robertson, Chief Executive Officer of Unity Wireless. "We look forward to opportunities to work with them on future product development," he added.

The initial order from Repeater was for the UltraTech Cougar 10-watt single carrier W-CDMA amplifier for use in the 2110-2170 MHz frequency band of 3G networks. The current Repeater order is for the UltraTech Lynx 10-watt single carrier CDMA amplifier for use in the 1930-1990 frequency band in existing wireless networks. Unity Wireless RF power amplifiers have demonstrated the ability to provide better performance on a cost basis for wireless telecommunications networks.

The power amplifier order helps position Unity Wireless to become one of Repeater's prime vendors of RF power amplifiers. The pilot order was delivered during May and June 2001 and is expected by both parties to lead to a long-term supply agreement. "We are pleased that the second quarter has been characterized by a high level of proposal activity," said David Orton, Vice President, Marketing. "The growth of Repeater Technologies' wireless engineering and installation business in 2, 2.5 and 3G markets will also expand our revenue growth," he said.
