Neoware Signs adtcom as Pan European Distributor

Europe's Largest Thin Client Distributor to Provide Neoware Products to Resellers, VARs and System Integrators

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Aug. 29, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Neoware Systems (Nasdaq:NWRE), the leading supplier of award-winning software and solutions for the emerging Appliance Computing market, today announced that it has appointed adtcom Network Computing AG, Europe's largest thin client distributor, as a Pan-European distributor for its thin client computing appliances.

Effective immediately, Neoware's products are available to the European channel via adtcom. In 2000, according to adtcom, it sold more than 27,000 thin clients throughout Europe to resellers, VARs and system integrators. Of the units delivered through adtcom's partners, over 80,000 seats had the capability to run Citrix software. adtcom has ten offices throughout Europe, and serves a network of more than 1,200 partners.

Neoware's products are thin client appliances, which are alternatives to personal computers used by businesses. Used in conjunction with Citrix MetaFrame and Microsoft Windows 2000 Terminal Services, Neoware's computing appliances allow users to run Windows applications from a server plus connect to mainframes, midrange computers and the Internet. Unlike personal computers, Neoware's thin client appliances can be centrally managed and remotely configured, which greatly simplifies administration. Because of this, thin client appliances can save up to 80% of the total cost of ownership of networked personal computers, resulting in significant cost savings for enterprise customers.

"Neoware is pleased to partner with adtcom as part of its aggressive expansion into the European market," stated Michael Kantrowitz, president and CEO of Neoware Systems. "adtcom is a great partner for us since its broad reach and access to the market complements Neoware's own presence in the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The people at adtcom are experts in the thin client market, and we are pleased to work with them to grow our businesses together."

"We are very pleased to provide Pan-European distribution and support for Neoware's award-winning thin client portfolio. adtcom's presence in ten European countries combined with our support and consulting services and thin client focus gives Neoware a first-class partner from which to grow its European business," stated Tim Goldring, joint CEO of adtcom. "Neoware's innovative products and flexible commercial approach combined with adtcom's broad coverage and expertise will quickly establish Neoware as a major player in this market," Goldring concluded.
