Mr. E E Anstee Resigns from Old Mutual Board and Executive Position


LONDON, Aug. 31, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Old Mutual plc (LSE:OML.L) announces that by mutual agreement Eric Anstee, Director and Chief Executive, Financial Services has resigned from the Board of the Company and his executive positions with the Old Mutual Group and associated undertakings as from 31 August 2001. His responsibilities as an executive director have been reassigned to Jim Sutcliffe.

Mike Levett, Chairman and Chief Executive of Old Mutual plc, said: "Eric joined us in November 1998 in the lead up to our demutualization and listing and played a vital role both in that process and in the expansion and development of our financial services businesses. We are appreciative of his considerable contribution to Old Mutual and wish him well for the future."

Eric Anstee said: "I have been with Old Mutual close to three years now, which has been a very challenging and exciting period in my career. I feel that the job I was tasked to do has substantially been completed, and it is time for me to move on. Old Mutual is now well positioned for the future and I wish Mike, Jim and their team every success"
