Neoware Appoints Sedicom as European Distributor

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Sept. 27, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Neoware Systems (Nasdaq:NWRE), the leading supplier of award-winning software and solutions for the emerging Appliance Computing market, today announced that it has appointed Sedicom Europe BV as a Neoware distributor in selected European countries for its line of thin client-computing appliances, effective immediately.

Based in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, Sedicom is a leading supplier of server-based computing products in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and will distribute Neoware products in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark and Norway, in addition to selected territories in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Sedicom is active in the thin client-computing appliance industry and this partnership significantly strengthens Neoware's worldwide presence and product distribution.

Neoware's products are thin client appliances that are alternatives to personal computers used by businesses. Used in conjunction with Citrix MetaFrame and Microsoft's Windows 2000 Terminal Services, Neoware's computing appliances allow users to run Windows applications from a server, plus connect to mainframes, midrange computers, and the Internet. Unlike personal computers, Neoware's thin client appliances can be centrally managed and remotely configured, which greatly simplifies administration. Because of this, thin client appliances can save up to 80% of the total cost of ownership of networked personal computers, resulting in significant cost savings for enterprise customers.

"Neoware is excited about this partnership with Sedicom as part of our continued expansion into the European market," stated Michael Kantrowitz, president and CEO of Neoware Systems. "Neoware has offices in the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands, and our partnership with Sedicom is a chance to expand our distribution through carefully selected, highly focused partners who understand our market. Neoware will continue to grow with the help of Sedicom's experienced employees, familiarity with the industry, and presence in the thin client marketplace."

"Sedicom is very pleased to work with Neoware as a key distribution partner. Thin client computing is the wave of the future and Sedicom is focused on offering best-of-breed products to our resellers. We are especially pleased to partner with a company that is growing its market share and that has the financial strength to build a leadership position in this dynamic industry," concluded Wilco Van Der Wel, manager of Sedicom BV.
