ONI Systems' Dr. Jianhui Zhou to Speak on "The Future Of Optical Components From a Vendor's Perspective" at the RHK STARTRAX2001 Telecom Conference


SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 26, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- MEDIA ADVISORY -- Dr. Jianhui Zhou, senior director of Product Management at ONI Systems Corp. (Nasdaq:ONIS), a leading provider of optical telecommunications systems for metropolitan and regional markets, is speaking on a panel entitled, "The Metro Market: How and When is it an Opportunity for Optical Components?" at the STARTRAX2001 Telecom Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Zhou will discuss the component needs and requirements of a system vendor. Held at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, the panel takes place Wednesday, October 31, 2001 from 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. MT.

Dr. Zhou leads the Product Management organization with responsibilities of system engineering, product line management and global product introduction. Prior to assuming the current role, he led the optical engineering team in developing optical hardware at ONI. Dr. Zhou has a B.S. and a M.S. from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Caltech.
