WJ Communications Announces Shipment of 100,000th OC-192 DRO Unit for Ultra Long-Haul Fiber Optic Networks

Over 99.8% Reliability in the Field

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 30, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- WJ Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:WJCI) today announced that is has shipped more than 100,000 of its 9.9 GHz system clock oscillators for OC-192 systems. This milestone includes shipments of the catalog VC1001 along with custom variants. The VC1001 is just one model in WJ's extensive portfolio of hybrid-based products optimized for existing and emerging fiber optic networks.

The VC1001 uses a dielectric resonator oscillator to create a fundamental sine wave at 9.953 GHz. This ultra stable output is tunable over a 20 MHz range while providing low phase-noise (-95 dBc/Hz at 10 KHz offset).

"This milestone is a true indication of WJ's volume production and manufacturing capability and the design ruggedness that goes into our products. WJ takes pride in the fact that the company has a field failure rate of less than 0.02% and has never missed a scheduled delivery for these products," stated Skip Hoover, Senior Vice President, Business Development of WJ Communications. "Production of the VC1001 leverages WJ's highly automated thin-film, hybrid assembly line and patented process technology."

Production and sample quantities are available now from WJ Communications, Inc.
