Sealed Air Corporation Announces Management Changes


SADDLE BROOK, N.J., Dec. 3, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE:SEE) announced today that David H. Kelsey has been named Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective January 1, 2002, succeeding Daniel S. Van Riper. David Kelsey joins Sealed Air from Oglebay Norton Company where he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Mr. Kelsey spent 20 years with General Electric Company, including 14 years with G.E. Capital. While there, Mr. Kelsey held a variety of positions in financial management, portfolio management and general management. Mr. Kelsey received a B.S.E. degree in Civil and Geological Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Daniel S. Van Riper, who has served as Sealed Air's Chief Financial Officer since 1998, will step down from the position at year-end as contemplated and will work with David Kelsey in transition and other activities. During Mr. Van Riper's tenure as Chief Financial Officer, he was instrumental in integrating the acquisition of the Cryovac packaging business into the global financial accounting and reporting systems of Sealed Air and establishing a single financial organization for Sealed Air.
