Orbit Canada Beta Testing VOC Service with Cable Internet Provider

TORONTO, Dec. 19, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Orbit E-Commerce, Inc. ("Orbit" or "the Company") (OTCBB:OECI) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Orbit Canada Inc., in conjunction with a Canadian cable company, has commenced a beta test of Orbit's technology for the purpose of supplying high-speed Internet cable subscribers with Orbit's award-winning VoIP services. This technology will enable the two companies to provide a voice over cable/Internet service to the cable company's clients. Upon completion of the test, Orbit expects to enter into a marketing partnership.

Essentially, this technology allows the customer to originate a long distance call over the cable network rather than using the local telephone company. Ultimately, the long distance call is delivered through Orbit's existing VoIP network to any destination on the Company's North American and international network. This service will allow the cable company to bundle its Internet service with a low-cost long distance service, thereby increasing the value and market share of their services. During the test phase, pricing structure and promotional programs will be jointly developed for marketing the service to the cable company's existing and potential high-speed Internet subscribers.

For Orbit, this represents only the first of several anticipated partnerships with well-established cable television service providers. These partnerships will not only bring additional revenue directly from their high-speed Internet clients, but tremendous credibility and appeal to other potential subscribers in their markets.

Douglas Lloyd, President and CEO of Orbit, explained, "Our future looks very bright as we continue to focus on the cable market and being true business partners with these well-established organizations in delivering high speed data, advanced video and voice services to our mutual customers. At the same time, this unique service will add tremendous value to cable companies and truly shows that VoIP technology represents the next wave of telecommunications services."

Further Mr. Lloyd stated, "It is extremely important that we, as a recognized leader of pure VoIP technology, keep our sights focused on emerging trends and tomorrow's leaders in an industry that is changing before our very eyes."
