Singapore Airlines Outsource Crew Planning to Carmen Systems


GOTEBORG, Sweden, Jan. 24, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Singapore Airlines, one of the world's most prestigious airlines, has signed a service bureau agreement with Carmen Systems for the planning of cabin crew operating patterns. By optimizing the crew operating patterns it is possible to reduce variable costs substantially. The first solutions planned by Carmen Systems will be in operation by the summer season 2002.

"We will obtain big and direct savings and also a powerful tool for improving quality of life for our crew. The investment in Carmen was a necessary decision to take," says Mr. Sim Kay Wee, Senior Vice President Cabin Crew at Singapore Airlines.

The agreement with Singapore Airlines for the outsourcing of seasonal crew planning is a good example of this.
