Dot Hill Teams with Scientific Digital Business

New Distributor Expands Presence in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand

CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 7, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dot Hill Systems Corp. (NYSE:HIL) today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Scientific Digital Business Pte Ltd (SDB) of Singapore, a leading mass storage and imaging product distributor in Southeast Asia. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) IT market is expected to grow by 13 percent in 2002 according to industry analyst firm IDC. The agreement enables SDB's regional offices, value-added resellers, and systems integrators to distribute Dot Hill's carrier-class data storage systems and storage networking solutions throughout the region.

"We are very pleased to be working with Dot Hill to distribute its reliable, flexible SANnet(r) and Axis product lines," said Wilson Chia, managing director of SDB Group. "Dot Hill's versatile storage networking products offer our resellers' customers many options. SANnet systems are an excellent fit with our existing storage solutions, and we look forward to introducing Dot Hill to our resellers."

Based in Singapore, Dot Hill's Michael Le, senior director sales and marketing for Asia Pacific, will work with SDB on a variety of promotional activities including reseller conferences, training, end-user seminars and trade shows in the region.

"We selected SDB because they understand storage networking and have proven to be a successful distributor. They have been in business since 1989 and distribute complementary products from JNI, Gadzoox, Bakbone and StorageTek," said Paul Makhail, Dot Hill's vice president Asia Pacific. "Their experienced product management team has implemented storage area networks and realizes the benefits Dot Hill's SANnet and Axis bring to storage infrastructure. We look forward to working with SDB offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand to promote Dot Hill's storage solutions."

SANnet, Dot Hill's family of storage systems, comprises mix-and-match components that can be customized by interface, capacity requirements, type of RAID protection, and level of fault-tolerance. Test results show that SANnet storage systems deliver 99.9998-plus percent uptime, that's just 45 seconds unplanned downtime per year -- leading the industry in reliability, availability and survivability. Axis is Dot Hill's family of storage managers that add intelligence to existing storage and networking infrastructures.
