SAS Airline Presents New Price Concept in Scandinavia

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 20, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Effective June 1, 2002, SAS Airline is introducing a completely new price concept for air travel within and between the Scandinavian countries. The price structure is simpler and more logical while at the same time business travel prices are being reduced by 30 percent. SAS Airlines will offer four "Daily" tickets for round-trip travel on the same day. The tickets can be booked and purchased already on May 7.

The new price concept is part of SAS Airline's major campaign Scandinavian Direct, with a number of new features, including removal of the curtain between business and economy class, a new uniform inflight service concept for passengers and simplicity in booking, paying and check-in.

SAS customers want to book, pay and travel more simply. They want a logical price offering, in which it is clear what you are paying for.

"Based on these customer needs, we have created a price concept that provides for greater choice, flexibility, more value for the money and which is based on a simple and logical rules," says Eric Berggren Lindberg, Senior Vice President, Revenue Management, SAS Airline.

Four "Daily" Alternatives

With the new price structure, SAS Airline offers a total of four price alternatives for business travelers, all with the possibility of daily round-trips any day of the week:

-- "Daily" When the customer wants to travel completely on own
terms, with full flexibility and no restrictions, SAS
offers the "Daily" ticket. This ticket is fully
transferable, has the highest availability and can be
booked at any time prior to departure, "Daily" includes
such advantages as pre-selection of seating onboard and
the highest priority on waiting lists. The customers can
              choice one-way or round-trip.

-- "Daily 2" Those customers who can book their trip not later than
two days prior to departure and do not change the date
of departure can purchase the round-trip ticket
"Daily 2". This ticket offers a flexible return trip,
which means that the return trip can be rebooked at any
time prior to departure. "Daily 2" is 10 percent less
              expensive than "Daily."

-- "Daily 4" "Daily 4" is a round-trip ticket with stricter rules. It
can be purchased not later than four days prior to
departure. It is not possible to make any changes in the
booking and there are a limited number of seats on
departures with high demand. "Daily 4" is about 20
              percent less expensive than "Daily."

-- "Daily 7" The lowest price ticket in "Daily 7." The ticket must be
purchased not later than seven days prior to departure
and cannot be changed after booking. This is the round-
trip ticket with the lowest level of flexibility within
this price group with the possibility of return on the
same day. Through booking via the Internet, customers
received a further price discount, so the total is about
33 percent less expensive than "Daily."

"Weekend" for Private Travelers

SAS Airline is also simplifying the price structure for private travelers in a similar fashion and as of June 1 is establishing "Weekend" as the common name for private travel. The "Weekend" concept is characterized by simplicity and a more logical configuration.

-- "Weekend" The most flexible private ticket that can be booked
and paid on the day of departure and costs about 50
percent of the price on an ordinary full-price
                 ticket.

-- "Weekend 7" "Weekend 7" must be booked and paid not later than
seven days prior to departure and costs about 40
percent less than an ordinary full-price ticket.

 -- "Weekend 14" Costs between 30-35 percent less than a full-price
ticket and must be booked at least 14 days prior to
                 departure.
