ONI Systems to Demo the ONLINE2500 Edge Service Platform Within 45 Vendor Storage Networking Display

SNW Interoperability Lab Showcases the Largest Enterprise Storage Network, Held April 3-4, 2002


PALM DESERT, Calif., April 2, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- MEDIA ADVISORY -- ONI Systems Corp. (Nasdaq:ONIS), a leading provider of optical telecommunications equipment for metro and regional networks, will join more than 45 storage networking vendors to showcase the largest demonstration of interoperable enterprise-wide storage networking solutions at the Spring 2002 Storage Networking World (SNW) Conference and Expo. This year's SNW Interoperability Lab, held on April 3-4, 2002, will include ONI's ONLINE2500 optical edge service platform demonstrating business continuance over wave division multiplexing (WDM) technology.

The SNW Interoperability Lab will focus on three solution areas: Enterprise, Departmental and Emerging Technologies. The solutions include multi-vendor demonstrations of business continuance, storage management, virtualization, backup and recovery, security, a Network Operations Center (NOC), IP Storage, InfiniBand, and management of storage networks using the CIM (Common Information Model)-WBEM (Web-based Enterprise Management) architecture.
