GOUDA, The Netherlands, April 9, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Imtech N.V. (technical service provider in Europe) has been commissioned by Accumulata Immobilien Development GmbH to carry out the technical equipment of the new multifunctional MK-2 building in Munich. The contract is worth more than 20 million Euro.
Imtech has an excellent position in the German market for larger buildings. Generally, Imtech, as total contractor ('Generalunternehmer') and System Integrator, is responsible for all technological solutions, which clients are provided with from a single coordination or contact point.
In the MK-2 project, a multifunctional building of almost 73,000 m(squared) - consisting of commercial premises, offices, accommodation for medical practices, and parking spaces - Imtech is responsible for the entire technical equipment. This includes air and climate technology, measurement and control engineering, energy management and sprinkler technology, together with all the relevant electrical systems and ICT solutions.
The building will be equipped with a variety of advanced technological systems, including facilities for the storage of heat and cold to provide an optimum use of energy. The building will also meet the requirements of the most up-to-date LON-technology (LonWorks Network Operating System). This means that all installations and systems are equipped with a standard chip, with which integrated control, operation and interaction can take place from any of the information points established within the communications network that is to be provided. In total, 10,000 of these information points will be installed.
The project, consisting of seven parts, will be carried out by Imtech Deutschland, South East Region. Completion of the last part of the contract will take place in June 2003.
