Gunnebo Signs MSEK 20 Contract with AB Storstockholms Lokaltrafik for Newly Developed Station Entrance Gates

GOTEBORG, Sweden, April 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gunnebo Entrance Control AB has signed a general agreement with the City of Stockholm's local public transport company (SL) to supply "Gate 2000" entrance gates. These newly developed entrance gates will initially replace the old turnstiles in Stockholm's central subway stations and major interchange stations. 50 new gates worth approximately MSEK 5 will be installed this year, and SL has an option to buy another 150 gates.

Cooperation between SL and Gunnebo Entrance Control on the joint "Gate 2000" project began in October 2000, when the first gates were installed at the Gullmarsplan underground station.

Recent usage evaluations, based on customer surveys, indicate a preference for the new Gunnebo gates over the old turnstile system. During the test period, ticket sales rose sharply and passenger flows accelerated.

"Our tests established that "Gate 2000" gates function to everyone's satisfaction," explained Lars Proos, President of Gunnebo Entrance Control AB. "We see considerable potential for this type of gate and we have already received a number of international inquiries for them. Traffic-operators have closer control over their ticket sales, and travelers find Gunnebo's new, environmentally friendly gates very convenient to use."

Gunnebo Entrance Control has an annual turnover of MSEK 300 and 225 employees in eight countries.

Gunnebo is today a fast-growing international security group with 100 subsidiary companies located in 30 countries. The Group has sales to a further hundred markets via agents and distributors. Annual turnover amounts to some MSEK 7,000. Gunnebo's security business comprises mainly burglar- and fire-resistant safes, security products for banks and cash-handling, electronic security, fire protection, access control and entrance control, alarm centres, outdoor and indoor perimeter protection.
