Wilhelm Sonesson and Pharmaceuticals Company Ferrosan Sign Cooperation Agreement


LUND, Sweden, April 17, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Wilh. Sonesson subsidiary Halsokostcentralen (HKC) has signed a cooperation agreement with Ferrosan for the distribution of Ferrosan AB's health and cosmetics product range in the Swedish market. At the wholesale level, the agreement corresponds to sales of approximately SEK 90 M during 2001.

Ferrosan has chosen to coordinate the distribution of all of its health and personal care products in Sweden through HKC. The product range includes familiar brands such as Imedeen, Eskimo-3 and Zinaxin. At the end of 2001, Ferrosan acquired CostMedic, which is based in Huskvarna in southern Sweden.

Halsokostcentralen (HKC) was founded in 1938 and is the leading wholesaler of health and personal care products in Sweden. Its share of the market amounts to approximately 70 percent within the specialist health-retailing segment. In 2001, sales amounted to SEK 385.8 M.

Ferrosan was founded in 1920 and is one of Denmark's leading companies in personal and skin care in tablet form. In 2001, sales amounted to approximately SEK 620 M.
