Gunnebo Signs MEUR 3.3 Contract with ABN AMRO to upgrade Electronic Security Solutions

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 17, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gunnebo, the global security group, has signed a contract worth more than MEUR 3.3 with Dutch bank ABN AMRO to rebuild and upgrade 550 service boxes.

Six years ago, Gunnebo's wholly owned subsidiary, Rosengrens Martens of Holland, supplied ABN AMRO with 600 service boxes with advanced security technology. Now Gunnebo has signed a contract to upgrade the service boxes and also to connect them to the bank's internal computer system via S@fenet -- a software system designed by Gunnebo specifically for banks and other institutions.

The advantages are considerable:

- The bank knows exactly how much a service box contains and when
         it needs to be emptied.

- Cash handling and counting can be outsourced without loss of
         control over the cash flow.

- The money becomes more readily available to both the bank and
         its customers.

- The emptying of a service box will require only one person as
all deposits are collected in a sack that is sealed before
the service box can be opened.

"Our solution will enable ABN AMRO to further improve the efficiency of its business, and is fully in line with their goal of reducing the amount of cash handling inside the bank," said Rosengrens Martens's president Henk Portegies Zwart. "This upgrading is also a good example of our focus on increasingly sophisticated electronic security solutions."
