GOTHENBURG, Sweden, June 18, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Fingerprint Cards AB has sold a non-exclusive licence to Hardware & Software Technology Co., Ltd. (HST), Taoyuan Hsien, Taiwan. HST will market and sell the technology of Fingerprint Cards in major Asian markets and re-sell Fingerprint Cards' components from its own stock in Taiwan.
HST possesses an extensive network of contacts among established volume manufacturers of electronic products in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, together with major expertise in the field of electronics, which enables it to assist its customers in integrating biometrics into a variety of products. During the start-up phase, it will be supplying customers with biometric components from a in-house warehouse, but those with subsequent plans for larger volumes, will be transferred to Fingerprint Cards, thereby guaranteeing them access to the lower component prices essential to high-volume production.
